Message from President John B. Simpson
Dear Colleagues:
The University at Buffalo is committed to providing every member of the university
community with the very best that UB has to offer. The university's reputation for academic
excellence and quality can only exist when we ensure there is an environment that promotes
mutual respect and collegiality. Harassment or discrimination, in any form, is antithetical to our
common purpose of achieving excellence. In particular, sexual harassment should have no place
at the University of Buffalo. It is the responsibility of every member of the university community
to ensure that we maintain a harassment-free environment.
This online sexual harassment training program will familiarize you with the definition
of sexual harassment, your rights and responsibilities as a university community member, and
the avenues you may pursue if you feel you have been the victim of sexual harassment or other
forms of discrimination. Access to this information is a critical component of ensuring that the
university complies with federal and state laws prohibiting discrimination and harassment. This
program will also familiarize you with the university's Sexual Harassment Policy and Procedure,
which applies to all members of the UB community.
Please join me in this effort toward achieving and maintaining a harassment-free
environment for everyone. I appreciate your taking the time to learn about this serious issue.
Sincerely,

John B. Simpson
President
